Chart-topper Carmel set to release new album

Back in the 1980s Carmel McCourt was a popular face on all the hit music shows.

The unassuming star, who lives in Sale, sold over half a million records and has now decided to return to music after raising a family.

Carmel, who works in the lingerie department at the Altrincham branch of Marks and Spencer’s started her singing career whilst studying at Manchester Art College in the late 1970s and is best remembered for hits including ‘Bad day’, 'More More More’ and ‘Sally.’
