Chester fracking protest continues. Roads closed overnight.

The protest against fracking near Chester is continuing despite police evicting protestors from the longest running anti fracking camp.

Nine people were arrested yesterday on Duttons Lane in Upton.

We will continue to do what is necessary to minimise disruption and will balance the lawful rights of people who want to protest peacefully with the rights of those who need to go about their daily business which includes the High Court Enforcement Officers.

Police officers remained at the location overnight with High Court Enforcement Officers.

They say Duttons Lane and Acres Lane remain closed to ensure the safety of members of the public.
