The death of a woman in Failsworth is being treated as non-suspicious.
At around 11:30pm on Saturday 28 May 2016, police attended an address on Oldham Road, Failsworth after receiving an abandoned emergency call.
At the address, officers spoke with a 42-year-old woman who had minor facial injuries.
A 57-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault and taken into custody for questioning. He has since been bailed until 29 July 2016.
Police later returned to the address to take a statement but found the body of the woman inside.
A post-mortem has concluded and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. The details have been passed to the coroner.
An automatic referral has been made by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
