Watch: Cat on a hot tin swing bridge

This unbelievable footage shows a cat teetering on a swing bridge in Stockton Heath, Warrington.

The drone footage, uploaded to YouTube by someone called Chris Digita, shows the moggie casually strolling on the swing bridge as it was in action.

Clearly using one of its nine lives, the cat can be seen teetering on the edge of the bridge - which crosses 30-meters above the Manchester Ship Canal - as it swings open.

Witnesses said the cat 'wasn't fazed' at all and patiently waited for the bridge to close before 'strolling off'.

Sarah Dornford-May, spokesman for Cheshire Fire Brigade, told the Warrington Guardian the cat had been very fortunate.

she said:

We’ve had to rescue animals from all kinds of situations and thankfully we didn’t need to help in this case.

This cat has been extremely lucky and we would urge pet owners to be extremely careful with their animals as the situation could have been different.

If an animal is in danger, we would ask members of the public to contact the emergency services or RSPCA to help.
