CCTV appeal as police investigate off-licence robbery

Police in Lancashire have released CCT images of a man they want to talk to in connection with a robbery in Oswaldtwistle.

It happened at around 7.45pm on Wednesday (December 28th) at Bargain Booze on Union Road.

An offender entered the store, selected a packet of rice from a display and went behind the counter and began to scan it himself.

He then threatened the shop assistant, stating he had a knife, and ripped the cash drawer from the desk.

He made off with the drawer, which contained a quantity of cash.

“We would like to speak to the man in the CCTV images as part of our enquiries. If you know him, or indeed if you are the man himself, we would urge you to get in touch with us.

“There were also several pedestrians and drivers in the area at the time this incident occurred and we would urge anybody who saw what happened to contact us.”
