A man who was suspected of having lung cancer actually turned out to have a toy traffic cone stuck in his airway.
Paul Baxter, 47, from Croston in Lancashire, was treated at the Royal Hospital in Preston after complaining of persistently coughing up mucus.
To everyone's surprise the mass obstructing his right lower lobe was actually a toy cone which he had swallowed 40-years earlier.
When doctors successfully removed the small object, the man said he recalled receiving it for his 7th birthday.
