Gender pay gap widest in Chester, according to report

Men are being paid up to 54% more than women in some of our towns and cities.

A study has found that Chester is one of the worst offenders for gender inequality in wages with women being paid an average of £25,000 a year compared with £38,000 for men.

The report is based on a study of more than 155,000 CVs of recent jobseekers.
