Union members from Merseyrail and Northernrail are protesting over the role of guards on trains.
Some passengers we spoke to supported their decision, others were frustrated at a lack of progress in talks:
The RMT union is calling for a special summit to break the deadlock.
Workers at Arriva Rail North are set to walk out in fresh strikes on Saturday in a row over train guards
Strike action WILL go ahead as planned today (Saturday) in the second Saturday walkout by RMT members
A deal has been agreed in principle to resolve a long-running dispute over guards on trains at Merseyrail.
