Police officer helps deliver baby by side of motorway

A police officer on shift in Merseyside overnight helped deliver a baby by the side of a motorway.

His squad car was flagged down by the soon-to-be parents on the M62 near Rainhill Stoops.

The newborn - a boy named Clarke, weighed 7lb 11oz.

Both mum and baby were said to be doing well as police escorted them to a nearby hospital.
