Sir Alex Ferguson has emergency surgery for brain haemorrage

Sir Alex Ferguson is recovering after an emergency surgery for a brain haemorrhage.

His former club Manchester United have announced the procedure has gone "very well" but he needs a period of intensive care to optimise his recovery.

'I've never met anyone as tough as Sir Alex he'll pull through' - Ryan Giggs

Speaking exclusively to Granada Reports - Ryan Giggs admits it was a 'huge shock' when he heard his former boss at Manchester United had suffered a brain hemorrhage.

He described Sir Alex, who's 76, as one of the greatest ever managers and says he's been told the emergency brain surgery he had on Saturday had gone well.

He says he's never met anyone as tough as Sir Alex Ferguson and he's sure he'll pull through.
