The Isle of Man Abortion Reform Bill has passed its first stage in the Legislative Council.
Yesterday the Bill, proposed by Dr Alex Allinson MHK, was scrutinised by members during its first reading in the Legislative Council Chambers.
Lord Bishop Peter Eagles said while the Bill protects mothers, it "doesn't protect an unborn child." He suggested the Bill be sent to a committee, which was rejected in the House of Keys.
The second reading will take place in the near future.
