Police pay out thousands to innocent man they strip searched

A man has won a payout of £135,000 from Lancashire Constabulary after being subjected to what he called a "painful and humiliating" strip search.

Two police officers arrested Paul Ponting on his driveway in Lancashire as his family looked on. He was pepper sprayed, taken into a cell and forcibly stripped.

The incident was captured on CCTV. Lancashire Police have now settled the case without admitting any wrong-doing.
