The crowds flocked to Kensington Palace for the opening of a £12million renovation. The grounds, state rooms and cafe have been made over to make the palace more tourist-friendly in time for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee weekend.
The most eagerly awaited new display includes five of Princess Diana's iconic dresses. The Palace staff say there's been so much interest they had their normal daily number of visitors through the gates by lunchtime.
Other improvements at the palace, which the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will call home, include an exhibition about Queen Victoria in her own words, a full re-landscaping of part of the gardens and a brand new cafe and shop.
