Footage shows moment robbers armed with 'high-powered pellet gun' storm corner shop and shoot man in eyes

This is the terrifying moment robbers stormed a corner shop and shot a shop worker in the face with a "high-powered pellet gun".

The suspects - described as men in the 20s - are then seen fleeing from the shop in Brixton, south London with the cash registers as their victim lies injured.

Police say the shop worker will require surgery to save his sight after being hit in the face and eyes by a series of "ball bearing-like pellets".

The incident happened at Phambra Foodstore in Lyham Road at around 8.35pm on Saturday 25 October.

Police urged anyone with information to come forward and help detectives catch "these dangerous, violent men".

"This was a vicious attack that could have left a man blinded," Detective Constable Ben Turner of the Met's Flying Squad said.

"We desperately want to find the men responsible for this crime - they used gratuitous violence to carry out this robbery and are clearly dangerous.

"I would ask anyone with information to come forward and help us catch these dangerous, violent men."
