A 90-year-old man has died after being blown by a gust of wind into the side of a moving bus, according to police.
Paramedics were called just after 12.30pm to Finchley Central station and worked for some time to try and revive him but he died at the roadside.
Officers believe they know the identity of the man and his next of kin have been informed.
Formal identification and a post-mortem examination will take place over the next few days.
A number of road closures are in place and drivers are being told to avoid the area.
Officers from the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating and there have been no arrests.
