A young cyclist has suffered serious injuries after a collision in East London which police are treating as attempted murder.
Officers were called to reports of a fight on Plashet Road, Forest Gate, at the same time as they received reports of a car in a collision with a cyclist.
Police believe that these two incidents are linked and are investigating the collision as attempted murder.
The cyclist - a man in his late teens or early twenties - sustained serious head injuries and is in a critical condition in hospital.
A police community support officer was also injured when he was forced to jump out of the way of a moving car. The officer was taken to hospital with an injured wrist and the driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
