Top ten worst Tube stations for crime revealed

The worst 10 stations on the London Underground for crime have been revealed with King's Cross topping the list.

The figures from the British Transport Police show that there were more than 450 crimes reported there in a year - almost 90 of them involving violence.

That number also involved 25 sex crimes and more than 200 thefts.

In joint second place were Oxford Circus and Stratford with 344 crimes each over the 12 month period.

But transport officials were keen to emphasise that crime figures across the network were at their lowest for a decade.

Many of these stations are very busy hubs with huge numbers of people passing through, so numbers of offences are always likely to be higher than at smaller stations.

Larger, busier stations also have a higher police presence, so more offences are likely to be recorded as a result of police-generated activity.
