Interactive map shows London's past and present

Photographs of some famous London landmarks from the past are set against google street views. Credit: Expedia

An interactive map shows what has changed, and what has stayed the same, over the last century.

The Historic London map, created for Expedia, uses old photographs from the late 1800s or early 1900s against a current image from Google Maps street view.

The map features 14 pictures including Covent Garden in 1905, Hyde Park in the 1920s and Fleet Street in 1890.

The archive photos show how while landmarks remain in place, transport systems and road markings are dramatically different.
