A screaming girlfriend cradled her dying boyfriend in her arms after he was stabbed in broad daylight in a north London street.
The victim, named as 22-year-old Ali Nasrollahi, was found collapsed in the Woodside Park area of Barnet on Tuesday afternoon.
Mr Nasrollahi was attacked after arguing with a man over a £120 debt, one witness said.
He was rushed to hospital suffering from a single stab wound but died a short time later.
The witness who tried to stem the bleeding described the altercation and the girlfriend's screams as her boyfriend lay dying in her arms.
You could hear shouting. They were saying, 'You were supposed to give me my £120, why didn't you bring my £120?
A woman who lives nearby said: "Nowadays there are stabbings every day. When it's close to you, it's frightening, it's scary.
"I feel so sorry for the poor boy who's lost his life."
Detectives are looking for up to four people who they believe Mr Nasrollahi was talking to when he was stabbed.
We know that the victim had driven to Woodside Grange Road with one of his friends and met up with another friend, who had also driven there. At some stage, the victim interacted with a group of up to four suspects, during that interaction we believe he was stabbed. The group of suspects then ran off down Grange Way and into an alleyway that leads onto Woodside Avenue.
