Luton Airport has recorded the busiest ever day in its 78-year history.
A total of 50,564 passengers passed through the airport on Friday 27 May, at the start of the half term break.
Passenger numbers for the whole month were up 17.6% on May 2015.
It is the 26th consecutive month of growth.
The airport is carrying out a project to boost capacity by 50% in the next four years to cope with 18 million passengers every year.
It currently serves 123 destinations.
