E-fit appeal after hijab is pulled from woman's head
A suspect attacker who ripped a hijab from a young woman has been pictured in an e-fit.
The Goldsmith's University Student, who doesn't want to be named, was assaulted as she crossed the road in Tottenham, north London.
Two men approached her from behind with one telling the 20-year-old she "looked more beautiful without her hijab" before it was ripped off her head.
The pair then ran off leaving the young student shocked and distressed.
Police have released an image of a man in his late twenties or early thirties, with a shaven head, stubble and wearing a burgundy hoodie in the hope of identifying one of the suspects.
Officers are treating this as a hate crime and are liaising with representatives from the local community and the council. The attack happened along the High Road in Tottenham on Wednesday September 28 at 7.30pm.
