Farringdon nightclub Fabric will reopen but with a strict new entry policy banning 18-year-olds.
The club has agreed to new operating procedures with Islington Council, having been shut down in September after two 18-year-olds died of drug overdoses in the summer.
Lawyers struck the deal with the council in private this afternoon. Specialist roles have been created to prevent drugs entering the venue, and to help anyone showing signs of illness inside.
Anyone under 19 will not be allowed in and anyone found in possession of drugs will be banned from the club for life.
Terms of the deal also include Fabric introducing covert surveillance, improved lighting and CCTV and ID scanners on entry.
The joint statement from Islington council and Fabric also mentions that anyone who has been found to be involved with abusing committee members or council staff online will be permanently excluded from the reopened club.
