Sadiq Khan was today accused of failing to give assurances to young black Londoners about the controversial police tactic 'stop and search'.
The Mayor is under pressure to clamp down on violent knife crime after a string of fatal of attacks.
Four men died in 24 hours over New Year, prompting Mr Khan to announce a 'significant increase' in stop and search.
The Mayor clashed with London Assembly Conservative member Shaun Bailey during bad tempered exchanges at City Hall.
Mr Bailey demanded Mr Khan guarantee young black men would not be targeted excessively.
But after questioning the Mayor for almost four minutes, Mr Bailey was clearly frustrated at the responses.
