Yet another murder investigation has been launched in London after a double shooting in Queensbury last night. A man, believed to be in his thirties, was found with critical injuries outside the tube station just after 9pm. Another man, in his twenties, is in hospital recovering from a gun shot wound.
The shooting is the latest in a spike of violent crime in the capital with over 60 murder investigations being launched since the start of the year. There are fears that knife and gun crime is now at its highest level for a decade.
Detectives investigating last night's shooting are appealing for witnesses as a crime scene remains in place in Cumberland Road and in Essolado Way. Forensic analysis including ballistic examination is also underway. There have been no arrests.
Police are asking anyone with any information about the shootings to call them on 101, quoting CAD 7757/01May. Information can also be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
