A teenager is in a serious condition in hospital after being shot outside an overground train station in Walthamstow. St James Station and the surrounding roads have been closed all night and this morning as police investigate the incident, which happened at around 10pm last night.
The victim is believed to be 18 years old and unconfirmed reports suggest he was shot three times at close range. Police say he was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries, but has made progress, and is now in a stable condition.
Police have been working through the night and during today's rush hour at the scene. There have been no arrests.
It's the second shooting outside the station within a few weeks after a 23 year old man was shot in the leg on July 13th.
