A council worker has been charged with fraud offences after being accused of taking money meant for those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire. 39 year old Jenny McDonagh, from Abbey Wood, worked for Kensington and Chelsea Council. She was first arrested on August 1st and has now been arrested again.
Scotland Yard says she had now been charged with two counts of fraud by abuse of position, one count of theft by employee and one count of money laundering.
72 people died as a result of the Grenfell Tower fire on June 14th 2017. Funds have been set up for survivors of the tragedy and for families of those who died.
Jenny McDonagh is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court today.
