Commuters who use one of London's major transport hubs are facing travel chaos all day after disruption at Paddington Station following damage to electric power lines. Trains to and from west London to Heathrow and Great Western Railway services to and from Hayes and Harlington or Slough have all been hit. Network Rail is advising travellers to avoid Paddington if possible.
Serious damage was caused to overhead electric wires at Ealing on Tuesday night with urgent repairs now underway. The power problems are affecting GWR, TfL Rail and Heathrow Express services. Many trains became stranded between Paddington and Reading due to the loss of power supply. Two of the four train lines are hoped to be open again by midday.
