Teenager struck by police car near Clapham Common

An 18-year-old pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being hit by a marked police car on an emergency call today at 3:40pm, Scotland Yard has said.

Metropolitan Police said the car was travelling with its blue lights on while responding to an emergency call not believed to be related to the pedestrian.

Scotland Yard said,

Officers in a marked police vehicle were involved in a collision with a pedestrian in Lambeth.

The 18-year-old pedestrian has been taken to a south London hospital. We await an update on his condition.

The Met's Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed and officers are awaiting an update on his condition.
