Passengers evacuated after fire breaks out beneath train at London Bridge

Passengers on a Southern Railway service at London Bridge station had to be evacuated this morning after a fire broke out beneath a carriage.

Power on three of the platforms had to be turned off while the fire brigade dealt with the flames. No-one was injured.

A fire on the underside of a train carriage at London Bridge has been extinguished. No injuries to passengers have been reported.

As a safety precaution, power to three platforms was turned off temporarily and unfortunately some trains had to be diverted or delayed. Minor disruption is expected to continue this morning.
