Organisers apologise after We Are Fstvl chaos

Organisers of a music festival in Upminster have apologised after a long queue to get in turned into a stampede.

People heading to the three-day We Are Fstvl event on Saturday were forced to wait in the heat for three hours.

After they had enough, the crowd stormed the gates, leading to people being pushed to the ground where they were trampled on.

Festival goers who experienced the crush are calling for a full investigation as well as a refund.

Darren Hill was caught in the chaos.

Darren Hill was among those caught up in the chaos, and even though he's got a ticket, he wasn't returning on Sunday.

"It was organised chaos it was the scare factor of everybody coming in to the festival. There was definitely a feeling of panic between festival-goers. They need to review the health and safety, they need better security which are on the ball and need to overlook the festival as a whole."

Tickets for the event cost up to £175 with big names such as Craig David, Sigma and Chase & Status performing over the weekend.

We Are Fstvl said the entry system would run a lot smoother on Sunday.

Our sincere apologies for anyone that experienced delays coming into the show today.

"A reminder to weekend ticket holders you don’t need to re-scan your wristband on Sunday but you will be subject to a search.

"To make things quicker for everyone tomorrow we are also adding additional staff, infrastructure and have worked with the technology providers to speed up the ticket checking process."
