Letters from London's Centre Point tower to be auctioned off after an artistic makeover

And the original letters from London's Centre Point tower will be auctioned today with money raised donated to the charity Centrepoint.

The letters were removed during the building's recent facelift and restored by a group of artists. Each letter is expected to sell for between £3,000 and £8,000.

When the building was redeveloped each of the two-metre tall letters were brought down from the 34th floor.

The group of artists, including Gavin Turk and Nancy Fouts, are some of the most recognisable names in contemporary sculpture and visual arts.
