Police hunting a man they believe attacked four women in east London have renewed appeals for information which could lead them to him.

The attacks happened within 10 days in different areas of east London.

A 35-year-old woman was raped as she walked home along a residential street in Plaistow South on Monday, July 1, at 2:40am. The man who attacked her also stole some of her possessions

Five days later, on Saturday, July 6, at 3:35am a woman was followed by a man. He robbed her and made sexual advance towards her.

Less than an hour later, at 4:20am, a 31-year-old woman was raped as she walked home along Amethyst Road in Leyton.

In a fourth attack on Thursday, July 11, a 31-year-old woman was followed by a man who threatened her and then tried to rape her at 3:30am on Central Park Road in East Ham.

Detectives have released a short video clip of the man they want to talk to.

The investigation continues to progress at pace and, while my team is following a number of lines of inquiry, we are still keen to hear from the public.

The footage and images that have been issued give a pretty clear picture of the man we are looking to trace. I would ask anyone who recognises him or who has information that could assist our investigation to get in contact immediately.

– Detective Chief Inspector Ann-Marie Waller, Metropolitan Police

There are extra police patrols in place in the areas where the attacks took place. Police are warning women walking in their own at night to take extra care.
