A man has been charged with three offences over the death of a pedestrian in a crash in Brixton Hill, south London, last Wednesday.
Scotland Yard said that Quincy Anyiam, 26, from Surrey, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision, and dangerous driving.
Anyiam went to a south London police station on Friday, was charged on Saturday night and will appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Police said that on Wednesday night a car sped away from police after being signalled to stop and was then involved in a collision with a pedestrian.
Police said a woman died at the scene, who has been identified as Anisha Vidal-Garner, 20, from Epping.
The car did not stop and was found abandoned nearby.
The police force's Directorate of Professional Standards and the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) have been informed, as is routine, and the IOPC will independently investigate the incident, Scotland Yard said.
