Congratulations Dennis! Patient, 94, applauded by staff at Barnet Hospital after recovering from coronavirus

A 94-year-old patient who went into Barnet Hospital with coronavirus left to a huge round of applause after recovering.

Staff lined the corridors of the north London hospital as Dennis Palmer was wheeled out on a trolley wearing a mask. Barnet Hospital congratulated Dennis and thanked "all the heroes" who cared for him.

Staff at the hospital have been receiving vital support from the community during the coronavirus crisis.

Donations including hand cream, fresh fruit, snacks and bottles of water are giving staff on the wards an extra boost.

The dedication being shown by staff in the response to coronavirus is remarkable and we are listening carefully to what matters to them.
