Supermarket giant Asda is launching a three-year degree course in distribution or retail for 30 of its staff in partnership with Middlesex University.
The scheme involves 12 days of classroom workshops, work-based assessment as well as online studies, leading to a BA degree.
Asda's executive people director Hayley Tatum said: "By providing the opportunity to study for a degree, we hope that we can open more doors for our colleagues, developing their skills for the future.
"Through the programme, we hope to create a pool of home grown talent, the future leaders of Asda."
Supermarket chain Asda is to cut its fuel prices by up to 2p a litre.
From tomorrow, drivers filling up at any of Asda's 195 forecourts nationwide will pay no more than 136.7p a litre for petrol and 141.7p a litre for diesel.
Sainsbury's has also said it would, from tomorrow, be cutting its petrol and diesel prices "in many of our stores by up to 2p a litre".
