Police have appealed for the public's help to find an 85-year-old man suffering from dementia.

John Booth left the care home where he lives in Holden Road, Barnet, between 8am and midday yesterday,

Extensive local police enquiries have failed to trace Mr Booth and officers are increasingly concerned for his safety due to the cold weather.

John Booth is 5ft 6” tall, of medium build and walks with a slight limp. He has very short grey hair and wears thin framed glasses.

He enjoys walking and staff at the care home and officers are concerned that he may have walked too far and become confused or be unable to make the journey home.

While the search for John continues, police ask that anyone who has seen John Booth contact Barnet Police by dialing 101 or call the care facility direct on 0208 492 6500.

Barnet Council backs plan to save Moss Hall Nursery

After a long campaign, Moss Hall Nursery has been saved from potentially devastating cuts to its budget.

In simple terms we did it, we got the council to accept the proposal, but we don't want to be doing it again so we need to ensure that we secure the core funding for future generations.

I myself cannot quite believe what we have achieved, I feel somewhat in a dream like status that in a moment I will awaken to a different verdict, I'm sure it will sink in soon! Many thought it would be impossible but you did it!
