IRA bomb survivor killed his children

An inquest has ruled that a father unlawfully killed his two children before committing suicide.

The bodies of Michael Pedersen, his seven-year-old son, Ben, and his daughter, Freya, who was six, were found in a car in September.

Pedersen, who survived an IRA bomb attack in Hyde Park in 1982, had recently split from his wife, who lives in west London.

A post mortem examination carried out on two children, found dead in a country lane in Hampshire, has revealed that they suffered multiple stab wounds.

The bodies of seven-year-old Ben and six-year-old Freya Pedersen were discovered near Andover on Sunday, alongside the body of their father, Michael Pedersen.

Mr Pedersen, who lived in Chertsey in Surrey, had recently split from his wife. An earlier post mortem showed that he too died from stab wounds to the chest.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with their deaths.
