Two men will appear in court today after a Pakistan International Airways plane was diverted to Stansted Airport.
Taxi driver Tayyab Subhani, 30, and restaurant worker Mohammed Safdar, 41, both from Lancashire, are charged with endangering an aircraft, after a passenger jet from Pakistan to Manchester was diverted with an RAF fighter escort to the Essex air hub on Friday.
The Typhoon jet was scrambled to escort the Boeing 777 flight over UK airspace before it was diverted to Stansted, where it landed at 2.15pm.They are both due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court in Essex.
