A green plaque to honour former British Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill, is to be unveiled by Westminster City Council.

The plaque, at 29 St James's Place, SW1, commemorates Sir Winston Churchill's childhood home.

He spent time under the care of his nanny at the address before attending boarding school.

Launched in 1991, The Green Plaque Scheme draws attention to particular buildings associated with people of renown who have made lasting contributions to society.
