The Conservative leader insisted there was momentum behind his party's campaign, but his speech to activists in south west London was marred by a heckler shouting "Come on SNP".

Party faithful booed as Mr Cameron described the choice facing voters and the possible prospect of "chaos" with Labour leader Ed Miliband as prime minister "backed by the SNP".

But a lone male voice shouted: "Come on SNP, I'm feeling racism from you guys in your party."
