Four people charged with the murder of Darren Kelly have appeared in court.
Mr Kelly, 42, was stabbed to death outside a block of flats in Basildon a couple of miles from his home on Tuesday October 20.
A 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy from Pitsea together with a 16-year-old boy from Basildon and 20-year-old Chris Carroll of Pevensey Close, Pitsea have all been charged with his murder.
None of the defendants under the age of 18 can be named for legal reasons.
All four appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates Court this morning and have been remanded into custody.
They will next appear in Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday.
A 13-year-old girl from Basildon who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail until December 16.
A post-mortem examination found that Mr Kelly died from stab wounds and blood loss.
