Manston Airport's plans to run flights during the night have been rejected in a vote by councillors in Thanet.

Opinions divided along party lines at the extraordinary meeting, with Labour voting to reject the airport's proposals.

The council says it's consultation was based on an independent review of the airport's proposals and the council's own consultation with residents.

But Conservatives say night flights would bring jobs to the area - and that banning the eight night time flights between 11pm and 7am would delay the airport's development.
