Two Hampshire fishermen have reeled in the biggest shark ever caught in British waters. The 10ft long porbeagle, a member of the man-eating Great White family, was caught by chance by anglers Wayne Comben, from Havant, and Graeme Pullen, from Hook

Experts believe the predator weighed about 550lbs, easily beating the 507lbs recordfor the previous biggest shark caught off the north Scottish coast in 1993.

The shark dragged the two men and their 17ft long boat for a mile off Boscastle, Cornwall, before they spent 90 minutes reeling it in using a rod and line taken from a garden strimmer.

Graeme Pullen spoke to Meridian Tonight about his unique catch.
