Guildford to be focus of Armed Forces Day celebrations

Thousands are expected to turn out for the free event in Surrey Credit: Guildford Armed Forces Day

All eyes will be on Guildford this weekend, as the town plays host to national celebrations of Armed Forces Day.

The Duke of York will attend the celebrations in the town and The Ministry of Defence Band will start live music from 10.30am on the Guildford Fringe stage in Stoke Park.

An Armed Forces Day parade, involving around 1000 Armed Forces personnel, veterans and cadets, will start at 11:30am at the bottom of Guildford High Street and end in Stoke Park. This will be followed by military displays in the park.
