A Kent man who raped a woman he met online has been jailed for nine years.
Rezart Lame, 23, from Margate met his victim on a dating website and after two months of messaging, they arranged to meet on 13 February 2014.
During the date, the woman had wanted to go for a walk, but Lame convinced her to go back to his flat instead. The victim told police that they had spent the date chatting, but shortly after the victim sent a text to someone to say she was okay and not to worry, Lame carried out his attack.
Between 9pm that evening and the following morning, Lame sexually assaulted the woman and made her feel intimated to leave, despite her repeatedly asking for him to let her go home.
Police say the victim managed to send a text for help to her friend but it was not seen until the morning. Eventually Lame drove her home, and she told friends what had happened.
Lame denied the charges and said the sex was consensual, but a jury didn't believe him.
He was sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court having previously been found guilty of three counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and one count of sexual assault.
