The husband of a Hampshire woman who died from heart complications, has raised thousands of pounds for a machine which could save the lives of pregnant women and their babies.
Sarah Sharp made headlines back in 1978, when she became the youngest person to receive a new heart valve.
But after her sudden death last year, her husband has headed a fundraising campaign at Southampton General
Theirs is just one of the moving stories of generosity, behind the Southampton Hospital Charity.
Rachel Hepworth met Gareth Sharp, Consultant cardiologist Dr Sam Fitzsimmons, former heart patient Emma Clark, and fundraisers Natasha and Lance Beatty.
There was also special thanks to Totton Health and Leisure Centre whose members raised several thousand pounds with a sponsored spin.
