General Election 2017: The youth vote was higher

Many are saying the youth vote was the game changer in last night's election.

In 2015 just over 40 per cent of 18 to 24 years olds went to the polling station - this time it was nearly double that.

Our social affairs correspondent Christine Alsford spoke to young first time voters at City College in Southampton and students from the University of Portsmouth. Why did they vote this time - and what has it changed.

Interviewees include recent graduate Kathryn Lowe and Portsmouth University Student Union President James Belmonte.
