A court's heard that a baby died from a 'catastrophic' brain injury at the hands of his mother or her boyfriend.
It's alleged the injuries suffered by five-month-old Eli Cox were the result of shaking - or shaking combined with impact. A post-mortem revealed he had 28 bone fractures at the time of his death in April 2016.
His mother, Katherine Cox, who's 33, and her partner, Danny Shepherd, who's 25, were both living together in Minster on Sea on the Isle of Sheppey when Eli died.
They have both denied the charges at Maidstone Crown Court of deliberately or accidentally causing injuries to Eli Cox. Both Shepherd and Cox have also denied taking amphetamine and cocaine.
