Tuesday afternoon's forecast for the east of the region

Cloud and rain slowly clearing east, turning frosty in west.

This Evening and Tonight: Cloud and rain should gradually clear eastwards during the evening, perhaps lingering across London and Kent until the early hours, leaving clear and frosty conditions behind. Patchy ice may develop on untreated wet surfaces. Minimum temperature -3 °C.

Wednesday: A chilly and bright morning with some sunshine. Southerly winds will strengthen considerably, with gales along the coast, and cloud thickening bringing rain eastwards during the afternoon. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: The weather looks to improve from Thursday onwards, with increasingly dry and bright conditions with lighter winds. Isolated showers possible on Thursday. Overnight fog and patchy frost remains possible.
