A have-a-go hero, who did his best to stop a young university student being stabbed to death, has been honoured for his bravery and initiative by the High Sheriff of Kent.
Benjamin Morton from Wrotham near Sevenoaks, tried to foil the attack by Joshua Stimpson. Sadly, Molly McLaren was killed by Stimpson, and he was jailed this month for the murder.
Mr Morton had shown courage and compassion during what was described as a 'ferocious and frenzied' attack, said the High Sheriff - with no thought for his own safety.
With our report, John Ryall.
